Teacher Development Division
- Provide professional support to schools in the effective implementation of the Maldives National Curriculum.
- Support schools in enhancing their professional capacities to foster positive character, instill values, and cultivate essential skills in students as prescribed in the national curriculum.
- Conduct teacher professional development programs to enhance their teaching skills.
- Plan and implement leadership training programs for staff in leadership positions of schools.
- Deliver the necessary training to schools for the effective implementation and continuity of school-based professional development programmes.
- Monitor and keep records of school-based professional development in schools while providing necessary guidance and support.
- Design and develop modules and necessary resources in various areas required for teacher capacity building.
- Develop and sustain a mechanism for delivering online training to support the professional development of teachers.
- Establish a mechanism to organise subject teachers’ forums for the purpose of enhancing teaching and learning of specific subjects
- Monitor the activities of teacher resource centers.
- Explore and test innovative ways of implementing the national curriculum, and provide support to schools to implement them.
- Develop and conduct training courses to enhance the capacity of leadership and teaching staff in the schools and continuously improve quality of teaching and learning.
- Develop the capacity of schools to use Information Communication Technology (ICT) in learning and teaching.
- Establish and monitor a system of providing mentoring support to newly recruited teachers to enable them to familiarise with the school environment and enhance their teaching skills and competencies.
